Content Management System
What is a CMS?
A CMS is software that helps users create, manage and modify content on a website without the need for specialized technical knowledge.
Content can be images, descriptions, titles, links, etc... Basically anything you can SEE on a website.
What makes up a CMS?
There are two core parts:
- A content management application (CMA) which is where you manage the content.
- A content delivery application (CDA) which is where the content is consumed and displayed visually on the site.
What is a headless CMS?
Basically a CMS without the CDA portion described above. This allows developers to use their preferred technologies when building the frontend. Content can be consumed via the headless CMS API.
